Collisions On Bridge
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Sept. 5. Early-morning peak traffic on the Auckland Harbour Bridge slowed to a crawl and stopped in some places when 26 cars crashed in seven separate nose-to-tail collisions today. No-one was hurt, but eight cars had to be towed away. The accidents all occurred on the bridge after 7.15 a.m., when a taxi had fuel trouble on the main span of the bridge. One lane of traffic was blocked for more than an hour while bridge patrolmen cleared the damaged vehicles.
