Meeting Of Creditors

Douglas Robert Slade, a labourer, of 241 Lichfield street, Christchurch, told a meeting of creditors yesterday that his debts amounted to £712 5s 6d. He had no assets and his liabilities amounted to £8 a week. Slade said he was in no position to pay his creditors at present, but, if possible, he would try. Slade said his bankruptcy occurred through the ill health of his wife and the break-up of his marriage. The meeting was told that some of the judgments entered against Slade arose from an unsuccessful plastering partnership which lasted nine months.

A motion was passed that the Official Assignee (Mr T. A. F. Withers) explore the possibility of trying to find Slade’s former partner, Terry Aitkens, with a view to sueing him for his share of the partnership debts.
