Scramble Fit

“The Press” Special Service WANGANUI. Scramble and Dunraven, rival candidates for the Owen Handicap at the Wanganui meeting on Saturday, sped over a halfmile in fast time there yesterday. Weather will determine their chances, with Dunraven appealing if the track deteriorates and Scramble preferred on a better footing. Trials were held against the running rail qn the No. 1 grass, which was the fastest for some months.

Dunraven (Cleaver) and Scramble (Lightweight) recorded a smart effort over a half-mile, recording 48 l-ssec for the full distance and running the last three together in 36£sec. Scramble, which took the outside running, looked particularly fit.
