The South Island German Shepherd League, which was formed 18 months ago and now has more than 100 members, held a ribbon parade and obedience trial at Addington on Sunday. There were 92 entries, from 30 dogs. Results:—

Doga.—Puppy and best puppy on parade: A. Carson’s Major of Gersheplair. Junior: Mrs S. Pear’s Chianti of Armiidale. Novice: Mr and Mrs A. Bogel's Axel von Arronberg. Limit: Mrs O. Smith’s Dominic von Freude. Open: B McLeer's Alert Brigand. Stud: B. McLear's Alert Brigand. Bitches. Puppy: Mrs A. Morrison’s Anastasia von Arronberg. Junior: B. McLeer's Rusnwynde Thea. Limit: Mrs I. Taylor’s Blspeth of DunsweM. Open: L. Cole’s Fartka von Freude. Brood: Mrs I. Taylor’s Elspeth of Dunsweil.

Variety Stakes.—Best champion: N. Weston's Ch. Karl of Dublynne. Best head and expression: B. McLeer's Rushwynde Thea. Best coat and condition: Mrs S. Pear's Chianti of Armcda-le. Best mover: Mrs S. Pear's Chianti of Arm'dale.

Obedience.—Special beginners (possible 75 points): Mrs J. Topp’s Jupiter of Vernris, 75. 1; J. Gaililagher’s Duke, 74. 2; Mrs M. van Boven’s Demetrius von Freude. 71, 3. Novice (possible 100 points): J. Gallagher’s Duke, 96 j, 1; Mrs J. Topp’s Jupiter of Vernris, 91, 2; Mrs B. Moore’s BeCla, 90, 3. Test A (possible 150 points): Mrs S. Pear’s Kattnka of Saarbucken, 1431, 1; J- Gallagher's Duke, 136, 2; Miss J. Blanch's Mitzi, 1354, 3.

The beauty section was judged by Miss J. Wiffin and the obedience section by Mr J. Scofield.

Basing Referee.—Mr M. V. Drury, of Canterbury, has been appointed a referee for the New Zealand amateur boxing championships at Rotorua this month. The Boxing Council has appointed Mr T. Wildes, also on the Canterbury executive, a judge for the championships.
