PEDESTRIAN INJURED

A pedestrian, Mr James Maroney, of 14 Kenilworth street, suffered a compound fracture of the left leg and head injuries when he was hit by a truck in Clarence street near Lincoln road about 5.20 p.m. yesterday. He was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital where he was operated on last evening. Any person who saw the accident is asked to get in touch with the motor accident Inquiry branch at the Christchurch Central Police Station.
