ELECTION CENTRE

Viet Cong Bomb I (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SAIGON, Sept. 6. Viet Cong terrorists blew up a South Vietnamese election information centre today in a daring daylight attack on the edge of Saigon. United States spokesmen | said no-one was killed or injured when the cement-walled, tile-roofed building shattered with a roar. The centre was located near America’s Tan Son Nhut air base on the western side of the capital. The attack came as the Viet Cong vowed to disrupt Sunday’s national election of a Constituent Assembly. The centre was unoccupied at the time of the blast, a police source said. The explosion, apparently a time bomb, demolished the building.
