Trade-ins On New Cars
Sir, —With many others, 1, too, have been the victim of sharp practice in buying a new car. Insistence on a trade-in at a ridiculously low price took all the gloss away from owning a new car. Protests were met by a shrug of the shoulders and a take-it-or-leave-it attitude, without even a pretence that an honest deal was being concluded. it would be interesting to hear whether the motor companies approve this practice on the part of their franchiseholders.—Yours, etc., DONE. September 4, 1966.
