Shortage Of Cars
(From Our Own Reporter) TIMARU, Aug. 30. The supply of cars had not improved, and, if anything, it had deteriorated, the president (Mr K. R. Martin) told the annual meeting of the Taxi Proprietors’ Federation today. The federation will consider an Otago remit, “That the industry express concern at the policy adopted by the motor industry of demanding a trade-in before releasing new cars.” The federation also will seek standardisation of waiting time in all fare schedules at the rate of £1 an hour.
