Tried To Take TV Set
The occupier of a house in Mackenzie avenue, Opawa, was awakened by an intruder attempting to remove a television set from the house about 1.57 a.m. yesterday. The man dropped the set, valued at £l3O, and made off.
The occupier then discovered that a radiogram valued at £B9 had been taken outside ready for removal. The thief got away with £3 ss. He entered through a window. A camera valued at £125 15s was stolen from the shop of Ayton’s Studios, Ltd., 131 Cashel street, on Monday. The office of Mr J. A. S. Marris, public accountant, in the Regent Theatre building, Cathedral square, was broken into during the week-end, and £ll2 9s 7d was stolen.
Between midday on Saturday and 9 a.m. on Monday a car radio valued at £3O was stolen from the premises of Pennant Car Sales, Ltd., 138 Victoria street. The office of Linton’s Orchard. 497 Main North road, was broken into during the week-end, and £1 10s was stolen.
