Six Regulars Absent

At least six regular Canterbury Rugby players are not included in the team to play Buller on Saturday. L. J. Davis, D. A. Arnold, A. J. Banks, and W. F. McCormick were not available: B. A. Watt has been placed in the reserves and J. N. Creighton has not been chosen. It will be the first match McCormick has missed for Canterbury because of injury since he first played for the A side in 1959. McCormick’s unavailability has created an unusual position for G. J. Waterreus. The former New Zealand Maori player has been chosen to play in both the Canterbury A and B teams on the same day. His replacement in the B team will be chosen today. The teams are:
