DJAKARTA, Aug. 30.
An- Army colonel in central Java says 10,000 persons have been arrested in a recent drive aimed at mopping up Communist Party underground elements.
Colonel Jasir, commander of an infantry brigade in Solo, reported the drive. Colonel Jasir said that some 7000 of the 10,000 arrested had cotne from the Klaten area, between Solo and Jogjakarta.
Klaten is one of the most notorious prison towns in Indonesia.
