Finals Of Festival

The Elmwood Players’ production of Oscar Wilde’s “Salome” is the only Christchurch production in the national finals of the British Drama League’s festival which will be held in the Repertory Theatre on Friday and Saturday. The judge is Mr John Thompson of Auckland. The programmes for the finals are:— FRIDAY “Salome,” by Oscar Wilde, produced by Alex Henderson, Elmwood Players. “Jaques or Obedience,” by Eugene lonesco, Diane Woods, Palmerston North Little Theatre Society. “A Phoenix Too Frequent,” by Christopher Fry, Alan Scott, Raumati South Drama Group. . SATURDAY “The Two Executioners,” by Fernando ' Arrabel, Murray Hutchinson, Te Aroha Drama Society. “Next Door,” by Jack McKinney, Prudence Edmandson, Te Aroha Drama Society. “A Resounding Tinkle,” by N. F. Simpson, Nancy Russell, Hawera Repertory Society.
