AIR FORCE ENTRANTS
Selection At Wigram About 130 candidates from throughout New Zealand, and also from Fiji, are being tested for pre-selection as officer cadets and as pilots and navigators at the Royal New Zealand Air Force base, Wigram. Those chosen as officer cadets will live-in at Wigram while they attend university, their commissions being confirmed after graduation. They will then be given flying, administrative or technical training. The other successful candidates will receive flying training at Wigram, and will then be posted to squadrons in various parts of the country. After medical, educational, leadership and flying aptitude tests, the candidates will beinterviewed by the selection board, of which the president is Group-Captain G. R. Brabyn, A.F.C., from R.N.Z.A.F. Headquarters, Wellington. The board will be at Wigram for three weeks. Fleet Air Arm pilot candidates will also be interviewed by a selection board presided over by Captain P. S. Beale, R.N., and Royal Air Force entrants will be given preliminary tests.
