REMODELLED THEATRE
The executive committee of the Canterbury Repertory Theatre Society yesterday announced the names of nine persons who will comprise the Canterbury Theatre Trust Board responsible for the administration of the professional section of the Christchurch Theatre Centre. The theatre will close at the end of November for the work to be done, and will reopen next year with the pro-
f fessional company’s first pror duction. The plans are in line with > the aims of the Queen Eliza- : beth II Arts Council, which is t encouraging the formation of - regional theatres rather than - a national company. The Canterbury Theatre Trust Board will be looking - for a professional- director, » manager and secretary, and , will decide on the size of the . professional company, and s the region which it will tour » from Christchurch. :- Its members are Mrs D. -- Goldsborough, Mrs D. Grant,
and Messrs P. D. Dunbar, D. G. V. Fernie, J. D. Kim. T. A. Kincaid, A. R. Mackay, H. Pointer, and A. F. Shaw. Mr Mackay has been appointed chairman.
