“One of the ministry people, having been prodded for the fourth or fifth time by one of my secretaries, protested that he was being badgered for other items of information by various Ministers. In his exasperation, I am told, he said: ‘Really, you cannot serve God and Mammon.’ “I have been wondering ever since which I am supposed to be.”
