Mt Tapuaenuku Climbed
(N.Z. Press Association! BLENHEIM, Aug. 18. Two instructors at the Cobham Outward Bound School at Anakiwa, Marlborough, have climbed the 9465 ft Mount Tapuaenuku in the inland Kaikouras. They reached the summit, the highest in the country outside the Southern Alps, at 2 p.m. on Tuesday. The mountain is rarely scaled in the winter. The men reached the summit in about eight hours, and the descent took five hours. They are Messrs R. P. Temple, seamanship instructor, and Chief Petty Officer P. J. Allan, physical training instructor.
