RUGBY ROUND-UP Davis Captain Of Junior All Blacks
The Canterbury half- I back. L. J. Davis, will I captain the Junior All ’ Black team to meet the British Lions at Wellington on August 31. Davis is one of three Canterbury 7 players selected for the team, the others being the first five-eighths, W. D I Cottrell, and the prop, K.| Tanner. In addition. A. J.j Wyllie has been named a reserve. Five of the team also played against the 1965 Springboks, Davis, the vice-captain | T. N. Lister, J. M. Finn, G.| C. .Williams, and A. J. Osbourne. With six players in the sides Wellington has the heaviest representation, the Press As-1 sociation reported. Auckland! has not any players in the’ side. The team is:—W. J. Potae <Bav of Plenty): D. ARMY'S BIG WIN Army beat Navy, 14-3, yesterday in the first match in the junior inter-services Rugby tournament at R.N.Z.A.F. base, Woodbourne. On Wednesday. Air Force will play Navy, and on Friday. Air Force will meet Army. Joint holders of the trophy are Navy and Army.
