Barrier Reef Oil Survey
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, Aug. 9. Australian Oil and Gas Corporation announced today that a marine seismic survey covering an area of approximately 4500 square miles in the Capricorn Channel region of the Great Barrier Reef will be commenced on or about August 12. The survey will be conducted by United Geophysical Corporation for Australian Gulf Oil Company. The survey is being made with the object of selecting locations for exploratory drilling.
