Heat Stops Fencing

(Special Crspdt. N.Z.P.A.) KINGSTON. New Zealand fencers had an unhappy day in the Commonwealth Games. In the first round of the men’s individual epee all New Zealanders were eliminated, and the women’s foil team was beaten, 6-3, by England. However, the women have another chance today. Their fight-off with Australia for the right to meet England for the gold and silver medals was postponed because of the heat.
