Boys’ Brigade Bugling

The first Boys’ Brigade bugle competitions to be held in New Zealand will be in St. John’s Church Hall, Latimer square, on Friday evening. Nineteen entries from seven companies had been received, said the competition organiser (Mr D. Giblin) yesterday. The winner of the competition will be presented with a silver bugle, and he will become the official bugler at all Canterbury battalion functions for a year. The judges will be Mr T. J. Kirk-Burnnand, of Aranui High School, and Mr F. Dennis, of Cashmere High School.
