Austin Deaths Now 17
<S’ Z P.A -Reuter—Copyright) AUSTIN (Texas), Aug. 8. The toll in Charles Whitman’s rampage of death here last Monday rose to 17 early this morning when 17-year-old Karen Griffith died in hospital early today. The girl was one of 31 people Whitman wounded when he opened fire from the University of Texas library tower. Another wounded victim of the shooting, a 41-year-old woman, was still in a critical condition in hospital.
