Vigour Fit At Hastings
HASTINGS. No horse impressed more at Hastings yesterday when trials were held for Saturday’s Dannevirke Hunt races, than Vigour, a winner recently at Marton and one of the best form prospects for this week's Highgate Handicap. Surface water covered the course proper and it did not open. The plough was in very good order considering the weather. Vigour worked on it with Paper Kiwi, which is also engaged in the Highgate Handicap. Heavy ground is assured for Saturday and will favour Vigour. Others to please yesterday included Shut and Grisbi. which will resume on Saturday after winter spells Vigour IJ. T. Anderson) and Paper Kiwi <R. Grantham) ran once round steadily and then ran six furlongs boldly in Imin 21 1-Ssec, the last three In 41 Shut (A. T. Jones) and Grisbi <M. Miritana) covered half a mile in Slsec. the last three furlongs in 38 3-ssec. They have done considerable work, particularly Grisbi, and might be capable of forward showings in the Ashcott Handicap on Saturday.
