REFUSAL OF APPLICANTS

Enrolment At Linwood H.S. Out of 375 applications for enrolment at Linwood High School 337 had been accepted, the headmaster (Mr P. A. Hickling) told the school’s board of governors. He said he had hoped to keep the number to 330. An application by Mr A. J. Johnson for leave to attend a youth consultation of the East Asian Christian Conference at Seoul, Korea, from October 1 to November 13 was granted. Mr Johnson, who teaches English and some social studies, is one of four New Zealand delegates representing the National Council of Churches.
