Crawford (Scotland) and five points from Sutherland, was in brilliant form on Monday and scored a 75 possible over 900 yards. He dropped five points over 1000 yards but his 145 aggregate for the day’s shooting was a magnificent effort. Sutherland, with 70 over the 900-yard range, kept his place in the field but dropped eight points over 1000 yards, to allow Stewart to creep up and tie. The shoot-off—one compulsory Sighter and three further shots over 1000 yards—started badly for Sutherland When his sighter went astray, With Stewart on the bull every time, the New Zealander could not make up the leeway.
