Australians Win. —The Australian Universities touring hockey team beat Bay ol Islands. 2-1, at Kaikohe on Monday. C. Leiinster scored twice lor Australia and C. Moss tor Bay. Second Win.—The LondonNew Zealand Cricket Club had its second win on its five-match tour of Denmark when it beat a combined Odense team by 28 runs. Boxing Honour. —Mr E. G. Pocock, president of the Canter bury Boxing Association for seven years and an association matchmaker for 31 years, has been nominated for life membership of the New Zealand Boxing Association. His nom ination will come before the annual meeting of the New Zealand Boxing Association in Rotorua at the end of next month. Four Qualify.—Four of the New Zealand Tasman Cup team qualified for the Australian championship in Melbourne yesterady. Mrs J. Little and Miss G.. Taylor will meet in today's opening round. Miss N. White and Miss Heather Booth are the other qualifiers. Mrs P. Bull missed by one stroke. Lions Bag Door.—Two members of the touring British Isles Rugby team, M. P. Weston and W. J. Mcßride, bagged a deer apiece yesterday. They were taken with D. L. Powell to Mr W J. Polson’s farm at Mangamahu, near Wanganui. Weston shot a 12-pointer, while McBride’s kill was a youngster. Neither had hunted deer before.
