OFFICERS OF A.A.C.
Postal Ballot Unnecessary Mr T. W. Milliken had been nominated unopposed for reelection as president of A.A. (Canterbury), the general manager (Mr E. S. Palliser) announced yesterday. Mr J. R. Maling had been nominated unopposed for re-election to the vice-presidency. Five nominations only were received for the five vacancies on the council. The nominees were Messrs C. H. Browne, T. D. Craig, G. Harvey, and A. I. R. Jamieson, retiring councillors, and Mr N. W. Tillman.
As the number of nominations does not exceed the numbers of vacancies a postal ballot will not be necessary and the five council nominees and the presidential and vicepresidential nominees, will be declared elected at the annual meeting on October 5. 1966. Mr C. M. Robb, the fifth retiring councillor, did not seek re-election.
Sitting councillors who do not retire this year are Messrs E. R. Casbolt, E. C. Champion, N. F. Greenslade, J. W. Lincoln and L. H. Wilson. Mr L. W. Broadhead will retain the office of immediate past-president. At annual meetings to be held on August 13 and 15 the Buller and West Coast branches of the association will elect their delegates to the council. The present delegates are Messrs L. J. Menzies, of Westport, and W. G. Bryant, of Hokitika.
