COMMAND IN FIJI

Colonel F. Rennie

WELLINGTON, Aug. 5.

Lieutenant-Colonel F. Rennie, who commanded the Special Air Service squadron in Malaya during the emergency there, has been appointed commander of the Fiji Military Forces. Colonel Rennie, who won the Military Cross during the emergency, is succeeding Colonel W. R. K. Morrison, who has been the commander in Fiji for the last four years. Colonel Rennie joined the Army in 1937 and served in the Pacific and Italy in the Second World War and in Japan after the war. After his return from Malaya he became Director of Infantry Training.
