Building Brings £28,200
A brick building with a concrete floor, a frontage of 81.82 links to Armagh street and a frontage of 82 links to Oxford terrace was bought by Mr N. H. Finney, of Amberley, for £28,200 at public auction yesterday.
The property was offered on account of Vale and Company, Ltd., by Ford and Hadfield, Ltd. The auctioneer was Mr D. Chapman. The building, which comprises a storeroom, showroom, offices, strong-room, conveniences, and a loading bay, is on a section of 16.2 perches zoned Commercial C. Mr Finney said that eventually a new building would be erected on the site. Bidding was brisk after it opened at £20,000. There were 12 bids of £5OO, eight of £250 and two of £lOO. The building is being used for a week from tomorrow as a shop selling a wide variety of goods to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
