The property was offered on account of Vale and Company, Ltd., by Ford and Hadfield, Ltd. The auctioneer was Mr D. Chapman. The building, which comprises a storeroom, showroom, offices, strong-room, conveniences, and a loading bay, is on a section of 16.2 perches zoned Commercial C. Mr Finney said that eventually a new building would be erected on the site. Bidding was brisk after it opened at £20,000. There were 12 bids of £5OO, eight of £250 and two of £lOO. The building is being used for a week from tomorrow as a shop selling a wide variety of goods to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
