Film Not Censored

(N.Z. Press Association)

WELLINGTON.

Suggestions that Monday night’s television film of the Auckland-Lions Rugby match might have been censored were denied yesterday by Mr L. Boyes, N.Z.B.C. public relations officer. The film shown after the Rugby was Michael Charlton’s controversial 8.8. C. documentary, "Vietnam—People and War.”

Suggestions about censorship were made by newspaper readers. They claimed the Rugby film was censored so as not to reduce the impact of the Vietnam fighting. Mr Boyes said that the Rugby film was not censored and was shown as received from the Auckland television station.
