HOLIDAY ACTIVITY

A stay-at-home camp, a glamour workshop, and additional classes for School Certificate candidates would be included in an August holiday programme arranged by the Y.W.C.A., said the secretary of the association (Mrs F. W. Gunz).

During the first week, from August 22 to 26, the Y.M.C.A. would hold its annual stay-at-home camp for children aged nine and 10, said Mrs Gunz. This year the camp would be limited to 30 children. It would include art and craftwork, ball games, a trip to CHTV3’s transmission tower, and perhaps a film. Last year the camp had been very popular. From August 29 .to September 2, Mrs Y. Keats, of Fashion House, would hold a glamour workshop for girls aged between 13 and 15. About 50 girls were expected to attend.

From September 5 to 9 It was hoped that extra coaching would be available for School Certificate candidates in mathematics, English and French. It would be the first year that French classes had been held. Twenty-five children would attend each mathematics and English class, and there would be about 20 children at each French class.
