Gridiron Football
A group of sixth form boys attending Rangiora High School is receiving Instruction, with first hand experience, in a sporting code which few other schools have the opportunity of emulating. The boys are being taught American gridiron football by an American. He is Mark Hereth. who has been attending the school this year under the American Field Scholar exchange scheme. The instruction in gridiron is being given as a novelty as part of the general pattern of physical training at the school, in which pupils are being taught the rudiments of a variety of sports played at school. The group of sixth formers receiving instruction in this particular football code may give a demonstration of gridiron football to other pupils later in the term.
