Th* £3398 U* Tar £1 double dividend returned by Hey Wyne and Fairlane i* believed to bo the biggest ever paid at Riccarton, but Is a long way from the New Zeeland record. The biggest double In New Zealand was th* £19,733 IDs for £1 returned by Goldahlp and Prince Charming at the Methven trotting meeting in 1952. The holder of the only 5s ticket received £4933 7s 6d. The biggest double at e galloping meeting was th* £8179 17* for £1 paid by Shamus and Fierro at Masterton in 1951. Only one 10s ticket was held on th* successful combination. Doubles detail* are:— (For Unit of £1) Riccarton: May Wyne (14) and Fairlane (U), £3389 18s.
