New Oil Store Wage Rates
Z.V.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 31. Oil store employees have been granted wage increases ranging up to 17s 6d weekly by the Court of Arbitration. Storemen and packers under the award will be paid a minimum of £l5 10s lOd weekly—an increase of 15s. Oil blenders are up 16s to £l6 Is. Pumpmen enjoy an increase of 16s to £l6 6s and greasemakers to £l6 Is. Head storemen in charge of three to five workers receive a 16s 8d rise to £l6 10s and those in charge of more than five workers will be paid a minimum of £l7 7s 6d weekly. The minimum rate for female oil stores employees rises 13s 6d to £ll 3s 6d. The award covers the Northern, Taranaki, Wellington, Marlborough, Nelson, Westland, Canterbury, Otago and Southland industrial districts. It is effective from July 9 and will continue until January 8, 1968.
