MILITARY TRAINING

Two Courses For Cadets

Three hundred and fifty boys from South Island school cadet units will gather at Burnham Military Camp early next month to attend two Army training courses. One will be an n.c.o. qualifying course to prepare selected cadets for appointment as section commanders. The other will be a senior n.c.o. course to qualify corporals and lance-corporals as platoon sergeants. Both courses will end on August 29. One hundred and sixty cadets from Canterbury and 90 from Nelson and Marlborough will attend. Others will come from Otago and Southland. Major J. W. Beaumont will be in charge of the training. He will be assisted by a staff drawn from area and field force units in both islands.
