COMMERCIAL Market Reacts To Good Profit News
Market reaction to good profit news was shown in a 6d rise to 33s 6d by Hallenstein Brothers and a 3d rise to 14s 9d by Motor Holdings. Generally the market closed on a dull note, with twice as many falls as rises.
. Turn-over on the Christchurch Stock Exchange was the lowest since December 23. The range of shares traded was narrow and fluctuations were few. Skellerup gained 6d to 54s and N.Z. Petroleum 3d to 3s 9d. New Zealand Refrigerating dividend deferred lost 6d more to Ils 6d, Manawatu Knitting Mills 6d to Bs, A. S. Paterson 3d to Ils 3d, Carter Consolidated 3d to 15s 6d, J. Wattie new 2d to 18s lOd, McLeod Brothers 9d to 21s 6d, and National Electric 3d to 5s 9.
