G.M. PLANT MOVE
Plans for the transfer of assembly work from its plant at Petone to new premises at Trentham have been ' announced by General Motors. The move will start with the transfer of body-shop work from Petone to Trentham early in September. The truck cab assembly line will be moved first, followed by the Vauxhall and Holden assembly lines and the paint shop. The trim assembly and manufacture sections will be moved next January and the car chassis and final assembly line will be moved in February.
