Concern About Rural School
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 27. Concern about reportedly unstable staffing and staff changes in schools, especially in rural areas, was expressed today at the annual conference of the Maori Women’s Welfare League. It was decided the Department of Education be requested that post-primary teachers at district high schools be appointed for a term of two or three years. Smaller rural schools were concerned at the number of staff changes in School Certificate year when the pupils needed a sound educational basis in order to be well prepared for their examination. !
