Engineering Staff

The major works section and the reticulation section of the Christchurch Drainage Board were amalgamated on Tuesday evening. Mr D. P. Scott was appointed construction engineer and Mr W. G. Gilray construction officer, and the board agreed to advertise for an assistant construction engineer and a junior engineer. Mr P. J. McWilliam, the chief engineer, said this would help to ease the pressure on the construction staff because of a shortage of engineers. Full relief must await the appointment of the two engineers.
