Table Tennis i Contest The response to a ques- 1 tionnaire to gauge the interest in a proposed table tennis competition for members of the Boys’ Brigade in North Canterbury, Christ-! church and Ashburton during the August school holidays had been poorer than expected, said the Canterbury battalion competitions convener, Mr K. W. Davis. This would be the first competition of its type to be I held by the movement in New Zealand. A competition for all Boys’ Brigade members in all parts of New Zea-i . land was being planned by! ! the Dominion executive for next year, Mr Davis said. ; About 800 boys aged from! , 12 to 18 are eligible to com- i pete in this year’s competii tion. , Table tennis competitions' jwere very popular in the' ! British Isles, said the bat-J talion publicity officer, Mr W. F. Bishop. In addition to battalion j competitions, the movement’s international magazine, “Stedfast,” organised a competition in England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland, he said.
