Pound Much Improved
The pound has improved considerably since the announcement of the British Government’s deflationary measures last week.
This is shown by yesterday’s exchange rates advised by the Bank of New South Wales.
The pound recovered against all currencies except the Belgian franc and the Norwegian crown. The Belgian franc hardened further on sterling, while the rate on Norwegian crowns was unchanged.
Purchase By Motor Specs. (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 25. Motor Specialties, Auckland, has acquired City Automotive Rebuilds, Ltd., an Auckland engine reconditioner. Consideration was in shares and cash. The company will continue to operate under its existing name but will be moved to larger premises for future expansion.
