Abandoned Tour
The tour of New Zeeland by the Lautoka hockey team has been abandoned. The New Zealand Hockey Association's management committee made this decision last evening as It had no confirmation of the tour. The secretary (Mr M. R. Good) said he had cabled the Fijian association saying that if the tour was not confirmed by last Friday it would be regarded as canceled. This confirmation had not been received. Members said tt was a ptty the tour had to be abandoned as there was a good reception from New Zealand associations. Sunday Play.-—The subject of Sunday play will be placed on the agenda for the annual meeting of the association. This is as the result of a suggestion by Mr J. Abrams, who felt something definite should be decided. Honour.—Mr A. E. Ostler (Auckland) had been graded an international umpire, the International Hockey Federation advised. Mr Of.er, one of the country’s leading umpires, was nominated on the recommendation of the Rev. H. D. KeCly, a New Zeallander, who ts an international umpire grade one.
