Basketball of a high standard was played in the quadrangular tournament in Ashburton on Saturday, between representative teams from Canterbury Sub-as-sociations, Southland Counties, Ashburton, and Temuka.

Southland won all three of its matches, two of them by big margins. Canterbury and Ashburton each won a match and drew one. Temuka lost all three matches.
