Southland Wins
Basketball of a high standard was played in the quadrangular tournament in Ashburton on Saturday, between representative teams from Canterbury Sub-as-sociations, Southland Counties, Ashburton, and Temuka.
Southland won all three of its matches, two of them by big margins. Canterbury and Ashburton each won a match and drew one. Temuka lost all three matches.
Southland 34, Temuka 16: Ashburton 27, Canterbury 27; Southland 34, Canterbury 27; Ashburton 31, Temuka 18: Canterbury 31, Temuka 26; Southland 47, Ashburton 23.
