Linwood Wins Hockey, 5-1
Linwood High School defeated Nelson College, 5-1, in their annual hockey match at Linwood yesterday. In the first half Linwood scored three goals, and the match produced some of the best hockey seen in Christchurch for a considerable time. The precise short passing, clean trapping and constructive passing of both sides was enjoyable, and each team made strenuous efforts to use its right flank. For Linwood, the centre-for-ward, P. Bahna, the centre-half, A. Chesney, and the back, K. Dudhia, played well, and M. Thorns, at Inside-left, had a good game for Nelson. Linwood’s goals were scored by D. Le Page (three). Bahna and D. Small. K. Woods netted for Nelson.
