Yacht Race Leader

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) HARWICH (Essex). D. Kelsall, the leader in the Round Britain yacht race, in his trimaran Toria, left Harwich early yesterday on the last leg of the race. He has 3'oo miles to go to the finish at Plymouth. Unless the wind turns westerly and strong, or dies completely, Kelsall should be approaching Plymouth some time late today or in the early hours of Friday. If he is first over the line he wins £lOOO and a trophy. He may not, however, be far enough ahead to get the handicap prize. Kelsall has already won the four lap prizes—Plymouth to Crosshaven, Crosshaven to Barra, Barra to Lerwick, and Lerwick to Harwich. The catamaran. Snow Goose, sailed by D. Robertson and D. Cooksey, was due to leave Harwich more than 80 hours after Kesall.
