TEST TEAMS TO GET WARNING

Both teams in next Saturday’s Rugby League third and final test between Britain and Australia will be issued with a firm warning about rough play by the referee, Mr C. Pearce, before the kick-off.
“There will be no funny business about this match in spite of the general impression in football circles,” said Mr Pearce yesterday. “Both sides will be told very bluntly what is expected of them. “Anyone who thinks this will be an orgy of bashing from start to finish is way off beam.
“Players will get a general warning before the start and those who care to flout it will find themselves back in the dressing-room very quickly. “There is a game to be put on and that is what I intend to see the public gets.
j “Football wi” have to be j played and fighting will not be countenanced.” Australia won the second. test, 6-4, in a rough game in Brisbane last Saturday. Britain had won the first j test. 17-13, at Sydney last month.
