AFRICAN REPLY
Bloodshed Warning (N.Z.P.A. -Reuter—Copyright) DAR ES SALAAM, July 19. Two South-West African nationalist organisations based in Dar es Salaam replied last night to the World Court’s decision on South-West Africa with immediate warnings of bloodshed in
the territory. The chief representative of the South-West African People’s Organisation, Mr Peter Nanyemba, urgently cabled the Organisation of African Unity asking for aid in “liberation” of the territory by force. “The judgment of the International Court grossly betrayed the South-West African people,” he told the O.A.U. Secretary-General, Mr Diano Telli.
The chief representative of the rival South-West Africa National Union said: “We would have liked a bloodless transition to come about. That’s what we have striven for during the last 20 years. “Now the international community must bear the consequences of what may follow," he said.
“We have repeatedly warned that South-West Africa could be turned into another Congo.”
