FISHING DISPUTE

Settlement In Napier (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 18. The Napier fishing dispute, which had lasted 16 weeks, was settled at a meeting in Wellington today. The Secretary of Labour, Mr H. Parsonage, said that the codfish boat Taiaroa would now sail as soon as it could be manned.

The dispute began on March 24 when the crew of the Taiaroa refused to sail because certain conditions requested on their behalf by the Seamen's Union were not agreed to by the Taiaroa’s owners.

None of the parties involved had any comment to make today.
