'Phone 497-236. 846 Fewer June Births And Deaths There were fewer June births and deaths this year than last year, but more marriage notices were issued, according to Christchurch district statistics. There were 434 births, 249 deaths, 126 marriage notices issued, and 34 registry marriages. In June last year the figures were 44, 262, 117 and 33. In the first six months of the year births totalled 2733 (2621) and deaths 1284 (1201). Marriage notices issued totalled 1246 (1118) and 240 (190) registry marriages were performed.
