Enthusiasm Still Lacking On Exchanges
Trading was sluggish and enthusiasm again appeared lacking on New Zealand stock exchanges as a poor week crawled to a close. Turn-over was low, but price movements a little sharper, and rises again outnumbered falls. Leaders were inactive and the interest centred on a narrow range of issues. Prestige, at 10s 3d and Golden Bay at 13s 3d, each gained 3d Mason Struthers rose Id to 4s lid and Winstone Is to 43s 9d. Falls of Id were recorded by New Zealand Breweries at 13s lOd and Kaiapoi-Petone at 5s sd. General Foods lost Id to 15s lOd, Pye 9s 3d and United Empire Box at 10s 6d, each lost 6d
