In the Byron street factory, used empty bottles are brought into the factory yard, sorted, and fed to the beginning of the bottling line. The first process is washing and sterilising, the bottles passing through about four tanks containing water at different temperatures and with different strengths of detergent Brushes clean both the outside and the inside of the bottles, which are then checked for chips and cracks.
